Anchor stories

Below are just a few stories from anchor caregivers in their own words. It’s relationships and attention to even the little things that make serving our clients a joy!

“I was with a client at the end of life and was there when she passed. I felt honored to be there. I thought she was starting to pass so I pulled out my bible and began to read. the entire family felt blessed and expressed this is how she would have wanted to pass.”

“I was with a client and as I was leaving I remembered that I forgot to put the remote next to her. I did not want her to worry about finding it so I turned around and went back and she was so grateful.”

“There was a client I had that I enjoyed spending time with. sadly, He was moved to hospice. I knew he loved his wine, so I went to visit him after he left Anchor because we had made such an impact on one another. We shared a glass of wine together and told each other stories for hours.”

“I have a client that loves to cook. One time when I was there she wanted to make biscuits, so we did! She had me sit down and try them. They actually tasted not too bad! It made my day and made me so happy to see her happily doing what she loves.”

“I took a client shopping one day. We went thrifting and to Blain’s Farm and Fleet and she got some t-shirts. She was smiling as we were running errands and it was so fun to see her so happy. Then we went out to lunch and later went to the beach together. She was beyond happy and I loved to have such a fun day with her. I also buy her nail polish a lot and I love to do the small things to make her the happiest we can.”
